Matt Baker
Company Director / Managing Director
Matt Baker is the Managing Director and founder of transport, logistics and warehousing behemoth, MB Logistics.
Born and bred in Canberra, Matt has grown MB Logistics from a small one-man operation in 2016 to today boasting a fleet of 17 vehicles, a purpose built, state of the art 5000 square metre warehousing facility and employing 20 passionate and experienced transport professionals.
From its inception, Matt built MB Logistics on his foundation principles of superior customer service and satisfaction, reliability and efficiency, the utilisation of the latest technology and his commitment in delivering total, complete transport, logistics and warehousing solutions for all his clients.
As with all entrepreneurs and business owners, Matt faced numerous challenges and obstacles throughout the growth of MB Logistics. His self-belief, determination and drive saw him navigate all these hurdles and grow the organisation to the success it is today.
Married to wife Michelle since 2013 they are the proud, doting parents of their young children Liam and Emily.
Matt continues to be the inspiration and driving force behind MB Logistics, leading the organisation to even greater success and growth for the future. Superior customer service and satisfaction, reliability and efficiency, the utilisation of the latest technology and commitment in delivering total, complete transport, logistics and warehousing solutions for all clients remains and will continue to be the cornerstones of Matt’s business philosophies and MB Logistics premium position across the transport, logistics and warehousing sectors.
Michelle Baker
Business Manager / Co-Owner
Business Manager and co-owner, Michelle Baker, has been a crucial contributor to the growth and success of MB Logistics since its inception in 2016.
Overseeing all the organisational and administrative requirements of the company, including HR, company finances, IT systems and support and strategic planning.
Michelle’s strong, decisive and inclusive leadership provides the ideal conduit between management, staff and clients.
Following a successful, decade long career in the public service with the Department of Home Affairs, she seamlessly transitioned across to the transport, logistics and warehousing sector utilising her skills and expertise and years of experience to significantly aid the growth of what started out as a small family business to flourish into the industry giant MB Logistics is today.
Michelle and Matt have been married since 2013 and forge the ideal husband and wife partnership. Along with her professional duties, she also looks after their two children, Liam and Emily, managing to find the ideal balance between work and home.
In a heavily male dominated industry, Michelle has certainly left an inedible mark as a seasoned and successful management professional.
Michelle, in partnership with Matt, continue to be the inspiration and driving force behind MB Logistics, leading the organisation to even greater success and growth for the future.
Paul Dillon
Business Development & Logistics Manager
Paul’s passion is Transport and Logistics. He has over 35 years of industry experience and enjoys working within privately owned Transport Businesses as there is always going to be the human contact and communication element.
Paul started changing truck tyres at the age of 18 and have worked in all aspects of the industry. He has worked as a yard hand, forklift operator, local delivery driver, interstate semi and B-double operator then turned his attention to management.
Paul has worked as a fleet controller and then as an Operations Manager, this is where he enjoyed learning our trade as we had constant communication with drivers and clients.
Paul then turned it up a level and managed his own Branch for roughly 10 years where this experience was valued, and he was promoted to a National level.
Paul then transformed himself from Express and General Freight into Heavy Haulage, this was a real experience as the logistics involved in moving heavy and out-of-gauge equipment around our country was extraordinary.
His expertise in Transport & Logistics came calling again as this is where he is best suited and enjoy. Paul’s internal interests are his clients including putting together logistics and tailor-made rate schedules that best suit their business and building teams within our business that best suit our clients.
Mick Jarman
Operations Manager
Mick has been in the Transport and Logistics Industry for over 30 years. He first started driving van’s and light trucks doing multiple drop deliveries for a food service company. He then moved into heavy rigid trucks delivering groceries and liquor around the ACT, then spent 12 years in heavy rigids and semi-trailers doing linehaul work, driving all over ACT, NSW and Victoria.
For the past 8 years he has moved into a more operational role using his vast knowledge and experience to organise fast, efficient and economical loads and routes for the 18 trucks and drivers we have at MB Logistics today.
He has also gained valuable experience in 3PL pick and pack warehousing and passed this onto our drivers and warehouse staff. He also has vast knowledge of all transport and warehousing technology and data systems. Mick says he loves the challenge MB Logistics offers me every day from dealing with customers proof of deliveries and queries, drivers calls and questions and all truck servicing and maintenance.
